How to promote using Podcasts

Podcasts are becoming more prominent in people's everyday life. This guide shows affiliates how they can monetise their podcast to earn commission on the sales they drive.

Adding your podcast to your traffic sources

In order to promote with your podcast, you will need to add the supporting website URL and/or connect the social media accounts for your podcast to your Commission Factory account. This can be done in the Traffic Sources section of your Settings. To access this page, log in to the Commission Factory platform, go to your Settings section and then select the Traffic Sources header.

To add a website URL, click + Add new website and fill out all the required details, then hit Save. To connect a social media account/s, simply scroll down to the Connect your Social Networks section. There will be fields for different social media pages, simply click on the three dots on the right-hand side of the social media/s you would like to connect. This will then prompt you to log in to the social media channel, by logging in, accept the permissions requests and your account will be connected to your Commission Factory account. 

How to promote on your podcast

After you have successfully added your podcast traffic sources and are joined to advertiser programs, you’re now able to start promoting advertisers.

In order to earn commissions on sales, your audience will need to click through one of your Commission Factory Affiliate Tracking Links. Tracking links can be found in the Creatives section of your Affiliate account and under the Text Links section.

Below are the ways you can promote with a podcast: 

  • Include links to your show notes - If your podcast has a section where you can add a description, feel free to also place your affiliate link to a brand that you mention in the podcast episode. 
  • Include links on your website  – If you have a website for your podcast, you can add in links in the blog posts you upload alongside your podcast episodes. This is a great way to monetise the content on your website and earn commission for the sales you drive to advertisers. 
  • Social media accounts - You may add your tracking links to the supporting social media accounts for your podcast. Please note to follow the affiliate disclosure policy/guidelines of the social media platform you are promoting on. 
  • Exclusive Clickless Coupon Codes - Using exclusive clickless coupons is the only method of promoting without the use of a tracking link. This is is because exclusive clickless coupon codes do not require a click. In your podcast recording, you can let your audience know to use your exclusive code at checkout for a specific brand you recommend.
