This is a guide for publishers on how to create text links or deep links.
Text links are unique trackable links you can use to direct traffic to an advertiser's website. Deep links are very similar to text links, however, are created to link to a specific page on an advertiser's website. This can be especially useful, for example, if you would like to link to a category page on an advertiser's website or to a specific product.
Both text links and deep links can be created in the Text Links tab, which is located in the Creatives section of your account.
Creating a text link
Navigate to the 'Creatives" header in the dashboard and then select the Text Links drop down.
Step 1: In the Search field, search for the advertiser you would like to create a link to.
Step 2: Copy the 'Tracking Link' URL located in the table, in the row associated with the brand you are looking to link out to.
Please note: You can format this link as HTML as opposed to a URL for insertion on your website by selecting HTML Hyperlink. You can also create anchor text or add in a unique ID.
Step 3: Paste the link onto your website as it automatically contains your affiliate ID.
Creating a deep link
Navigate to the 'Creatives" header in the dashboard and then select the Text Links drop down.
Step 1: Search for the merchant you are looking to link out to.
Step 2: Navigate to the right-hand side and select the three dot icon and click the "Get HTML" option.
Step 3: From here, either copy the generic tracking link at the top of the dialogue box, or find and copy the destination URL you want to redirect to. When you have the destination URL, paste this into the Custom Target URL field. This will automatically populate a tracking link to that specific destination URL at the top of the dialogue box. You're able to add additional reporting metrics in the form of Unique ID's, which can help identify specific tracking links compared to others.
