# Primary Traffic Channel

## This Help Centre article explains what Primary Traffic Channel refers to and where to find it on the Commission Factory platform.

The Primary Traffic Channel in an affiliate account reflects the main promotional method the affiliate will use to promote advertisers.

It is important for affiliates to select the correct Primary Traffic Channel that reflects what channel they will use to promote advertisers with.

To edit the **Primary Traffic Channel** in your account, you can do so by going to **Settings** \> **Traffic Sources**, at the top of the page you will find a dropdown with a list of the different affiliate types you can choose from. Once selected, please hit **Save**.

For more information on each primary traffic channel type to help you decide which one to select, please see another one of our Help Centre guides [here](https://help.commissionfactory.com/what-type-of-affiliate-are-you?hsLang=en).
