Tracking Security Signature provides an added layer of security and assurance for the source of transactions on Commission Factory. This provides an extra variable to Advertisers for assistance in validating transactions in the platform.
Transactions:
Each Transaction tracked on Commission Factory will show one of 3 status, based on the presence of a Tracking Secret. This is a unique identifier sent to Commission Factory from the implemented tracking method.
- No security signature / None – A tracking secret was not present.
- Valid security signature / Valid – A tracking secret was present.
- Invalid security signature / Invalid – An unexpected tracking secret was present.
The status can be seen per transaction by clicking the ‘3 dots’ icon and ‘more information’ in Reporting > Transactions > View Transactions. When exported to CSV, Tracking Security Signature is listed in the column titled ‘SignatureVerified’ with a status per transaction.
Interpretation:
Advertisers will only see ‘Valid’ or ‘Invalid’ if they are using a compatible Shopping Cart and have either installed the ‘Tracking Secret’ during integration setup, or have updated to the latest shopping cart plugin. This confirms the presence of a valid tracking signature.
If you are not using a compatible Shopping Cart with correct installation it will appear as ‘No security signature’.
Should you encounter ‘Invalid’ as a security signature status, we encourage you to contact your Commission Factory representative to assist in further investigation.

The Shopping Carts that currently support Tracking Security signatures are:
- Custom
- Magento
- Magento 2
- PrestaShop
- S2S (Server-to-Server)
- Shopify (plugin)
- WooCommerce
It is important to note, the ‘tracking secret’ must have been integrated during the tracking integration process for the following:
- Custom
- S2S (Server-to-Server)
For the ‘tracking secret’ to be present for the below Carts, it is necessary to update the plugin/installation of the below methods to the latest update. This may involve un-installing and re-installing.
- Magento
- Magento 2
- PrestaShop
- Shopify (plugin)
- WooCommerce
To view Tracking Setup instructions, log into your program and access settings by clicking the ‘cog’ in the top right. Then select ‘Tracking Setup’ to be able to view all integration method instructions.
