How to Use the in-platform Compliance Violation Tool

The Compliance Violation Tool is designed to help advertisers address known breaches of their affiliate program's terms and conditions. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to use this tool effectively:

Step 1: Gather Evidence

Before reporting a violation, collect clear evidence of the breach. This may include screenshots, links, or other documentation showing the affiliate's non-compliant activity.

Step 2: Locate the Affiliate in your platform

Use the “Partners -> Affiliates” Directory in the Commission Factory platform to search for the affiliate in question. Once located, select “View Affiliate” to access their profile from the side menu.

Step 3: Report the Violation

In the affiliate's profile, navigate to the “Manage Application” section and select the “Report a Violation.” button from the bottom of the page. Follow the prompts to submit the report, attaching the evidence you gathered. Once submitted, the report will be sent to the Commission Factory compliance team for review.

 

Optional: Remove the Affiliate 

If the breach warrants removal, you can remove the affiliate with 7 days’ notice. To do this, find the affiliate in the “Partners ->Affiliates” Directory, Once located, select “Remove” from the affiliate’s side menu.

The affiliate will then be put “On Notice,” indicating the 7 day removal process has begun.


Optional: Validate the sales 

In the event of a compliance breach, advertisers should also assess whether any transactions attributed to the affiliate during the breach period should be voided.

Note: Voiding transactions is the responsibility of the advertiser. If the transactions are not manually voided, they will remain eligible for commission payout. You can manage this through the Reporting->Transactions tab in your platform dashboard. Please note that once a transaction locks it can no longer be voided or amended.

It is recommended that any decisions regarding voids for compliance reasons are communicated clearly to ticket support using the "?" in the top corner of your platform, if further assistance is required.
