What commercial options are available for Opportunities?

Understand the commercial terms affiliates may request in the Opportunities Marketplace, including CPA increases, flat fees, and cost per click rates.

What are the commercial options in affiliate opportunities?

Your default CPA rate applies to most affiliates in your program. But when affiliates offer extra exposure or promotional activity, they may ask for an adjustment such as a one-off fee, a CPA increase, or a cost-per-click (CPC) fee for the opportunity.

You’ll find most of these requests in the Opportunities Marketplace, where affiliates promote upcoming campaigns and paid promotional spots.

CPA increases

Some opportunities ask for a temporary increase to your usual CPA rate. This adjustment applies only during the opportunity period and is often specified in the opportunity description.

Offering a higher CPA can improve your chances of being selected, especially for premium promotional spots.

Flat fee (one-off bonus)

Affiliates may request a flat fee, often called a tenancy fee or paid opportunity, either instead of or alongside a CPA increase.

This means:

  • You pay a one-off fixed amount in exchange for promotional exposure

  • The fee is paid through your Commission Factory dashboard as a bonus payment

  • It will be included in your next invoice

Cost-per-click (CPC)

CPC opportunities involve paying a fixed amount for every valid click driven by the affiliate’s promotion.

When to use CPC

CPC works best when your campaign goals focus on:

  • Driving website traffic

  • Increasing brand visibility

  • Supporting awareness campaigns

You can use CPC alongside CPA increases or flat fees, depending on your objectives.

How CPC works

  • You agree on a set cost per click with the affiliate

  • The number of valid clicks during the campaign is multiplied by this rate

Valid click rules

To keep CPC reporting accurate, Commission Factory applies the following rules:

  • Date-based attribution: Only clicks within the opportunity’s Start Date and End Date are counted

  • Bot exclusion: Known bots are filtered out using Awin’s detection list

  • Duplicate click prevention: Repeat clicks from the same visitor on the same creative within 10 minutes are excluded

In reports, valid clicks are shown as CPC Count.
