Commission Factory operate on the following attribution hierarchy -
Cookieless Tracking Code:
- Where a unique clickless coupon code exists – The affiliate assigned to the code is attributed with the commission (exclusive code referrer)
- No click is required and only one code can exist per transaction
- A unique clickless coupon code overwrites standard click, soft click and impressions
*If the clickless coupon is assigned to the affiliate that would have otherwise been attributed based on the remaining rules below, then the source is recorded as a click/impression rather than a click-less coupon so that important information from the click/impression such as referrer and unique ID is not lost.
Standard Click:
- Where a single Standard Click exists in isolation – The Standard Click is attributed with the commission (click referrer)
- Where multiple Standard Clicks exist – The most recent Standard Click is attributed with the commission (last click referrer)
- Standard Click overwrites soft click and impressions
Soft Click:
- Where a single Soft Clicks exists in isolation – The Soft Click is attributed with the commission (soft click referrer)
- Where multiple Soft Clicks exist – The most recent Soft Click is attributed with the commission (last soft click referrer)
- Soft Clicks overwrite Impressions but cannot overwrite Standard Click cookies
Impression:
- Where a single Impression exists in isolation – The Impression is attributed with the commission (view referrer)
- Where multiple Impressions exist – The most recent Impression is attributed with the commission (last view referrer)
- Where Impressions and Standard Clicks coexist – The most recent Standard Click is attributed with the commission (last click referrer)
- Impressions cannot overwrite Soft Click or Standard Click
