Advertiser benchmark reports

Gain valuable insights into your industry's performance with benchmarking reports. These reports are generated by aggregating data from all advertisers within a particular category, also commonly referred to as industry, vertical or segment.

Size of industry benchmark

  1. Total affiliates - Total unique affiliates joined to all advertiser programs in the same vertical.

  2. Click active affiliates - Total unique affiliates joined to all advertiser programs in the same vertical that have driven clicks within the last 90 days.

  3. Transaction active affiliates - Total unique affiliates joined to all advertiser programs in the same vertical that have driven sales within the last 90 days.

The following calculations compare the advertiser's data to the average value for the industry based on the last 90 days.

Program metrics

  1. Average order value (AOV) - The sum of transaction value divided by the count of transactions

  2. Cost per action - The sum of commission and override divided by the count of transactions.

  3. Conversion rate - The sum of transactions divided by the sum of clicks.

  4. Return on ad spend (ROAS) - The sum of sales value divided by the sum of commissions and override.

  5. Effective cost per click (ECPC) - The sum of commissions and override divided by the count of clicks.

  6. Commission rate - The sum of commissions divided by the sum of sales value.

  7. New customers - The sum of transactions attributed to "New customers" divided by total transactions.

  8. Return customers - The sum of transactions attributed to "Return customers" divided by total transactions.

New vs return customer data depends on an advertiser correctly passing this data back to Commission Factory via their tracking integration. 

Affiliate activity status

Inactive, click active and transaction active affiliates compared to the industry average. This will be a live count every time the page is refreshed.

Top affiliate contribution

The top 1-5 affiliates, 6-15 affiliates & 16+ Affiliates. The metrics used to group this data can be toggled via the dropdown to filter the data by:

  • Clicks

  • Impressions

  • Transactions

  • Sales value

Affiliate channel distribution

A breakdown of the primary channel of affiliates compared to the industry average. This can be toggled via the dropdown to filter the data by:

  • Clicks

  • Impressions

  • Transactions

  • Sales value

 

Performance comparisons

Compares quarter-on-quarter or year-on-year totals for the Advertiser's average and industry average. This report does not compare the advertiser's data to the industry average, but rather a side-by-side view of core metrics over a custom comparison period.

Commission rate benchmarking

Average commissions - Total commission divided by total sales per affiliate for the last 90 days compared to the industry average per affiliate for the last 90 days.
