How to remove an affiliate from your program

Removing an affiliate may make it easier to manage your program and focus on more valuable relationships. However, removal should only occur after reviewing the affiliate and considering whether they could be reactivated.

Before removing an affiliate

Removing an affiliate may mean they do not return to your program. Before proceeding, consider whether the affiliate could become active with additional time, support or an incentive.

For guidance, see:

For serious compliance, fraud or brand-safety concerns, immediate removal may be appropriate.

Filter inactive affiliates

To find approved affiliates that have not generated any clicks:

  1. Sign in to your advertiser or agency account.
  2. Go to Partners > Manage.
  3. Select Filter.
  4. Under Status, select Approved.
  5. Under Group, select Inactive Affiliates.
  6. Select Apply.

The results will display approved affiliates that have not generated any clicks.

Before removing an affiliate, select the three-dot menu beside their name and then select View affiliate. Review their traffic sources, website or social channels, audience and suitability for your program.

Consider retaining affiliates that are recently approved, seasonal, high-potential or preparing an upcoming campaign. You can add these affiliates to a custom group and contact them through Message Centre for reactivation opportunity.

Remove an affiliate individually

To remove one affiliate:

  1. Find the affiliate in Partners > Manage.
  2. Select the three-dot menu beside the affiliate.
  3. Select Remove.
  4. Confirm the removal when prompted.

Repeat these steps for each affiliate you want to remove individually.

Remove affiliates in bulk

Review each affiliate before using the bulk-removal option. This reduces the risk of removing a valuable or developing partner by mistake.

To remove multiple affiliates:

  1. In Partners > Manage, apply the required filters.
  2. Select the checkbox beside each affiliate you want to remove.
  3. Review the selected affiliates carefully.
  4. Select Remove Selected.
  5. Confirm the removal when prompted.

To select all affiliates displayed on the current page, use the checkbox at the top left of the list.

If the results continue across multiple pages, review and select the relevant affiliates on each page.

What happens after removal?

Once removed, the affiliate will no longer be approved to participate in the program or access its promotional opportunities.

Consider keeping an internal record of the affiliates removed, the removal date, the reason for removal and any previous reactivation attempts.
